Production Features of the Lego Company History

The company started to expand into new frontiers of the doll industry. In 1971 LEGO begun to target young women with the opening of furniture pieces and dollhouses; in 1974 it introduced its first individuals figures, referred to as Minifigures; and 1979 this expanded in space with sets highlighting astronaut minifigures, rockets, lunar rovers and spaceships.
